    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assists department personnel with planning and scheduling of field personnel and equipment
    • Manages, with senior management oversight, the selection, placement, training, appraisal, safety and discipline of assigned employees
    • Understands the operations of asset inventory, surveying, mapping, SUE and utility coordination field equipment and has the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies
    • Understands the operations of fiber design and construction as well as asset inventory tasks, details, accuracies, and techniques required to support OSP construction projects.
    • Oversees the direction of field activities of the crews set forth by the field supervisors (do we need this equivalent for assets?) and asset inventory crew chiefs
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Experience - Education and Skills

    • Minimum 3 years of experience as an OSP engineer managing a minimum of five crews
    • High School Diploma required; some college a plus
    • Must be able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends and out of town work possible)
    • Valid driver's license and good driving record required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude
    • Highly organized and attention to detail
