The Training and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses property-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment
  • Identifies long/short –range training goals and proposes training and development programs to achieve those goals
  • Reviews training design documents, training plans, curriculum, exercises and activities and recommends changes to ensure skills development programs meet the needs of staff and expectation of the company
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop new course content.
  • Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events
  • Ensure training and certifications information are current in LMS
  • Generate training metrics to measure success of training initiatives
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff

Required Experience - Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 10+ years of experience (A/E/C industry experience preferred)
  • Experience in training delivery in a multi-state organization
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certified preferred
  • This position requires up to 25% travel
