Duties & Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership – Schedules, communicates and coordinates all subordinates tasks and efforts. Conducts performance/skills assessments of subordinates per established process. Mentors and helps develop other administrators and other technical staff.
  • Technical Support – Provide comprehensive technical support for the server, storage, network & voice environment.
  • Project Management – Provide leadership and coordination for internal team infrastructure projects.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance - Plans, implements and maintains the server, storage, network & voice environment. Schedule installs and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor and tune the systems to achieve optimum performance levels.Provide input for capacity planning and long term strategic planning.
  • Audit Support - Conduct routine hardware and software audits of equipment to ensure compliance with established IT standards, policies and configuration guidelines.
  • Maintains On-call – Maintains a schedule for 24x7 on-call support for break/fix issues, maintains established on-call procedures. Monitors team incident, change and problem SLA metrics.


Required Experience - Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Technology or job experience related equivalence.
  • Experience (type and amount):
    • 6 to 8 years experience in leading server, storage & network teams with demonstrated experience in maintaining it in a secure data center environment.
    • Successful as a technical or project lead in at least 3 large projects.
      • Large projects are defined as having more than 5 participants, a budget of over $250k or a timeline of 4 months or longer.
    • Responsible individually or for teams that completed the implementation and maintenance of a minimum of 100 network devices (Routers, Switches, wireless controllers, firewalls), 200 servers (virtual or physical) and over 100 TB of disk.
    • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
    • Experience with VMware virtualization platforms
    • Experience with Storage Area Network technologies
    • Experience with Dell Storage platforms
  • Licenses/Certifications (specify if required or preferred):
    • ITIL foundations certification preferred
    • MCSA required, MCSE preferred
    • CCNA preferred
    • VCP preferred
    • Any other technology certifications a plus
  • Soft Skills:
    • Professional with a “Customer Service First” attitude
    • Motivated and results oriented (work ethic) with an ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Project management leadership experience
